The Introduction of How to Weaving Blankets by Raw Material

The main raw material of blankets are polyester, acrylic, cotton ect...As to the cheap cost and convenient way to achieve, polyester has become the main raw material of 90% blankets amde in China. As a kind of material made through industrial and chemical polymerization, this manufacturing technique is very mature in China. The basic material of Polyester is made by direct esterification method using PTA and EG and polycondensation of 9BHET. Which is also called PET, H(OCH2CCOCO)NOCH2CH2OH is its chemical structural formula of long chain molecules. It's molecular weight is usually around 18000-25000. After the polymer formation, melting point jet, forming diverse types of polyester silk by using Mechanical separation devices. The whole process is called Polyester jet. 

That's applicable for the following several specific blankets:

Ordinary blankets: 300D/96, 300D/144.
One-ply blanket: 250D/96, 250D/120.
Flannel blankets: 150D/288, 120D/192.
Cloudy blankets:150D/144.

The main difference between them are the thickness of yarn. Thick yarn has strong hardness and good resilience, so the finished products made from it have fluffier feeling, strong and stiff style and upright surface. Spun yarn is softer and has smaller diameter. The finished products made from it with high quality has softer, dense, smooth surface. So the cost is relatively higher. Wholesale blankets like this, would has high price ratio.


Additional resilience enhancement is unnecessary after polyester jet, but the yarn needs machine resilience enhancement. In order to enhance its resilience and reduce the force of friction on its surface. Weaving is feasible when the yarn reaches certain level of smoothness and toughness. Currently, there are two ways of weaving clothing: Weft knitting machine which is also called circular machine, which is weft knitting; another way is warp knitting by warp knitting machine. High grade blankets are made by the wary of warp knitting. 


Summary: 1. Adding different chemical additives appropriately gives our polyester yarns a different functions during the process of chemical polymerization of Polyester polymer. For instance, brighter, more matte, inflaming retarding etc... So the scientific research of chemical additives in the future will be one of the key points to change the function of Polyester. 2. The machinery function of weaving machines is very important to the quality in weaving. The change of new generation of weaving machines may also have a great impact on the varieties and production of blankets.
